However, before undergoing treatment, we should understand what back pain is. Back pain refers to discomfort or pain felt in the spine, muscles, or nerves, especially in the lower back. It can hurt a little or a lot, and it can be short-term (acute) or long-term (chronic). It can change how you move, sleep, and live your life.

Types of Back Pain

You can classify back pain by where it hurts, how long it lasts, or what caused it:
  • Acute Pain:

A sudden pain that lasts less than six weeks, typically due to an injury or strain.

  • Chronic Pain

Pain that lasts for more than 12 weeks. It often requires examination by a specialist.

  • Lower Back Pain

Pain in the lower back, which supports most of the body’s weight. This is common among individuals who sit at desks, have poor posture, or don’t engage in regular physical activity.

  • Upper and Middle Back Pain

Although not as common, it can occur due to muscle strain, poor posture, or pre-existing health issues.

Back Pain

Symptoms of Back Pain ( Symptoms assoicated with Back Pain)

  • A constant ache or stiffness in the spine
  • Sharp, localised pain in the neck, upper back, or lower back
  • Radiating pain to the legs (sciatica)
  • Pain after standing, sitting, or lifting for a long time
  • Tingling or numbness in the legs
  • Less ability to move or be flexible

Causes of Back Pain

There are a number of things that could be causing your back pain:

Strain on a muscle or ligament

Heavy lifting, bad posture, or sudden movement can overstretch or tear muscles or ligaments, which can make your back stiff and hurt in one spot.

Slipped or herniated disc

When spinal discs bulge or break, they put pressure on nerves, which can cause pain or numbness that often spreads to the legs (sciatica), especially in the lower back.

Degenerative disc disease

As you age, the discs in your spine wear down, making them less cushioned and causing chronic back pain, especially when sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods.

Osteoporosis or arthritis

Osteoporosis or arthritis can weaken or inflame the bones and spinal joints, which can alter the body’s function and cause persistent back pain or stiffness.

Tumours or infections in the spine

Tumors or infections in or near the spine can irritate nerves or cause inflammation, which can lead to severe, long-lasting back pain and even fever.

Bad posture or a sedentary lifestyle

When you sit for long periods of time without good posture or exercise, your core muscles get weaker, which can lead to chronic lower back pain.

Our experts at Dr. Raveesh’s clinic offer thorough evaluation and advanced lower back pain treatment in Hyderabad for all types of causes.

1. Clipping:

This procedure involves placing a small metal clip around the base of an aneurysm to prevent it from rupturing and causing a stroke.

2. Coiling:

In this minimally invasive procedure, a catheter is guided to the aneurysm site, and the surgeon places small platinum coils to promote blood clotting and prevent further bleeding.

3. Carotid Endarterectomy:

This surgery involves removing plaque buildup from the carotid artery to restore proper blood flow to the brain.

4. Thrombectomy:

It involves removing a blood clot using specialized devices to restore blood flow to the brain.

Diagnosis

We use a step-by-step method to diagnose:

  • Physical Examination: Checking posture, movement, strength, and flexibility
  • Imaging tests: Like MRI, CT scan, or X-rays can look for damage inside the body.
  • Neurological exams: To find out if nerves are involved or if you have sciatica.
  • Medical History: Knowing about past injuries, family history, or problems with your lifestyle.

Please note that these are approximate costs and can vary depending on factors such as hospital charges, room category, and additional medical services required.

I knew Dr. RAVEESH SUNKARA through his father Dr. S. Kishore Kumar, MD who is our Family Doctor since more than 35 years. I approached him when my wife, Aged 65 years was suffering with Left hand Tremors, Urine problem, memory disturbance, etc. She has come to a stage that she was unable to walk.

In MRI it was found that 'Tumar' is developing, first time noticed. After diagnosing Dr. Raveesh Sunkara suggested for immediate Surgery to avoid further complications. He explained to us the problem and required procedure to be done. I strongly believed his confidence over his profession, way of his explanation on the case, his guts too on observation, though young and Dynamic.

Surgery was done on 25/09/21 by Dr. RAVEESH SUNKARA, NEURO SURGEON, Yashoda hospital Malakpet, SUCCESSFULLY. My wife is now able to walk within 4 days' time, talking as usual, recovering slowly. She is out of danger now. Thanks to all of you.

Dr. RAVEESH SUNKARA has given very good treatment to my wife, giving further LIFE not only to her, but to me too, a 71 years' Young Husband.

We believe that he is one of the Best NEURO SURGEON in our twin cities. GOD BLESS HIM.🙏🙏🙏

I have known Dr. Raveesh sunkara since 2020. I approached him when my friend diagnosed with brain hammarage. I was absolutely broken when I came to know that. He has given very good treatment and monitored his health continually. He has always been very supportive and very accessible in the hour of our need despite his busy work schedules. He takes time to know his patients, inquires about all concerns and issues they have and resolves them and makes sure that their stress levels are low. The care, concern and professionalism that he shows to his patients is amazing. There were a lot of times when he lost interest in his life, became so depressed. But, undoubtedly, it is because of him that he have become so positive after those gruelling hours of rehabilitation and other kinds of medical treatment. Even now, when we go for annual checkups he treats with him with as much care. Moreover, whenever I recommended him to some of my friends/acquaintances who had similar health issues, he treated them in the same way, with utmost care and concern. All I can say is that he is a great doctor and, more than that, an awesome human being.

Dr. Raveesh performed my husband's surgery. It's been more than one month now and he is doing well now. He is a very nice doctor . After diagnosing the problem, he explained the problem and required procedure to be done to me and my family. He advised to get the surgery done immediately rather than to wait . He assured that my husband would be fine and there is no life risk in doing surgery. During the hospitalization period, he was very supportive. He got in touch even after discharge to check about my husband's well being. He has lot of patience and good professional experience.
